“The idea of our classes began with a dedicated teacher who started working closely with both small groups and individual students through active reading and writing sessions. In that calm, focused, yet fun and committed environment she created, students began expressing themselves more freely, thinking critically, stepping out of their shy shells, and rediscovering the joy of learning. This personalised and thoughtful approach became the foundation of our home academy—where every class is designed to support meaningful growth through real small-group learning and one-to-one guidance.”

What I like about OHT Academy’s bookclub is it focuses on a small group setting, which gives its teachers the flexibility to personalize their students learning. Each session doesn’t only focus on reading and comprehension, but it also engages student to think critically and share their thoughts in a confident manner. This allow students to submerge in the English language comprehensively.

Miss Lydia, former Book Class teacher

Lucas enjoyed each and every lesson. He also found and love all the teachers for his classes there as they are helpful, patient and friendly. His feedback was that he found the classes interesting, engaging, interactive and fun. His grammar, construction of sentences and comprehension have improved including his grades in his English examinations. Strongly recommend this tuition center where your child or children can master this language in a fun and beneficial way.

Before coming to Malaysia, my daughters had never received any proper English education in Korea. They barely knew the alphabet. When they first arrived, it was a difficult time for them—struggling with a new language in an unfamiliar environment. That’s when they met Alvina (OHT), and it’s now been three years since they started studying with her.

At first, the girls had a fear of learning a new language—especially English. But through Alvina’s structured guidance in grammar, reading, and writing, they gradually adjusted to school life here. One of the greatest strengths of this book club is that children read together with friends in the same space.

Kids today, who are so used to media and short-form content, often treat reading as something to rush through. But in this book club, the routine of gathering weekly, taking turns reading aloud, understanding the content together, sharing thoughts, and summarizing at the end helps them build a habit of deep, focused reading.

They don't just memorize new vocabulary; instead, they become familiar with the words naturally through short sentence-making, quizzes, and other engaging activities.

Sometimes, I hear my daughters recommending OHT to friends who attend typical tutoring centers, saying, “There’s this fun place called OHT—why don’t you try it too?” When I see that, I think to myself, “Ah! I made the right choice.”

I truly believe that through their experience here, my children grow closer to books, develop deeper thinking skills, form their own original views, and lay a strong foundation for their future lives.
